Strip, recoat, or just buff
Not every tired floor needs a full strip. A floor that is dull in the traffic lanes but still sound can be brought back with a scrub and recoat, which cleans the surface and adds fresh wax. A floor that only needs shine can be buffed, which smooths and glosses the existing finish without adding layers.
A full strip is for floors the lighter work cannot save. Yellowing is the clearest sign: wax builds up coat after coat, traps dirt between the layers and turns the floor yellow. Dull traffic lanes that do not respond to buffing and thick wax buildup along the edges and corners also point to a strip. Stripping takes the finish down to the tile so the floor starts fresh.
Choosing the right one saves the floor and the budget. Buffing a floor that needs stripping just polishes the dirt in. Stripping a floor that only needed a recoat wastes time and finish. The walk-through shows which level the floor needs, and we do that level only.

How long does strip and wax take?
It depends on the area. Most jobs are done overnight so the floor is ready the next day.
How often should floors be stripped?
Usually once or twice a year, with buffing or recoating in between.
Can you do it after hours?
Yes, that is when we do most of them.
How do I know if my floor needs stripping instead of a recoat?
Yellowing, wax buildup along edges and traffic lanes that stay dull after buffing all point to a strip. A sound floor that is just dull usually only needs a scrub and recoat.
Can you buff between strip jobs?
Yes. Regular buffing keeps the finish glossy and extends the time before a full strip is needed.
